Borçelik, Becomes the Only Steel Producer in the World to Achieve EDGE Gender Certification

Borçelik, a Borusan Group company, has been awarded the EDGE Gender Certification, which assesses workplace gender equality conditions. Borçelik is currently the only company in the steel sector to hold this certification worldwide and the first company in Europe to achieve this important milestone in the steel industry.
As Turkey's largest galvanized flat steel producer offering the highest quality, Borçelik has been recognized for its pioneering efforts in gender equality within its industry. With this achievement, Borçelik has added another success to its record, becoming the only company in the global steel industry worldwide that currently holds the EDGE Gender Certification. In addition, Borçelik proudly holds the title of being the first company in Europe’s steel sector to receive this prestigious certification.
EDGE (Equity, Diversity, and Gender Equality) is a globally recognized certification program designed to promote workplace gender equality. It evaluates companies based on statistical data, policies, practices, and employee surveys, particularly in the areas of equal pay, recruitment and promotion, training, flexible working conditions, and corporate culture. Throughout the certification process, Borçelik demonstrated the successful implementation of a sustainable gender equality strategy in strategic collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), further solidifying its leadership role in this area.
