1990 - Foundation of Borçelik, as Turkey's first private flat steel producer.

1994 - Initial investment - 200 Million USD.

1994 - Production of first coil on 23 April

2001 - Borusan - Arcelor Co-Management : Investment of 140 Million USD for capacity expansion and the addition of a new galvanising line on Borçelik site at Gemlik.

2003 - Start up of the Borçelik CGL 1 line on 18 September

2004 - Start up of the RCM 2 line on 14 April

2006 - Start up of rewamped CGL 2 line on 20 May

2006 - The decision to set up the Third Galvanizing Line which will extend the annual rolling capacity from 1 million tonnes to 1,6 by an investment of 138 million USD.
